SMD eventually came on about 1:15am and seemed to take another hour to warm up. I was trying to convert my 2 friends to their genius but both lost patience and left. Is it such a sin to play tunes you recognise from the many SMD albums I previously bought? They were mixing their own music with occasional hints of recognisable tunes. I wanted more from delicacies, unpatterns and sustain/ attack. I probably would have been satisfied had I stayed to the bitter end but time is precious. The first 3 times they were immense (especially sleep deprivation at the City Halls). Fantastically creative duo who should have been 5 stars again. I guess the boys are mere mortals. The crowd were happy enough so maybe I'm just a picky punter!

Setlist: the hustler, sleep dep, most of new album. Some I ain't heard. Some of 1st album.
Beth Ditto track was great. @

Opening act(s): the young fathers are excellent apart the white dude. He's not street, more C&A!
The small black dude was a dancing athlete..immense! @

2nd time seen SMD. They were unbelievably good at City Halls.
This gig was more raw and intense. Best gig my bud's ever been to.
SMD are up there with Bjork, LCD Soundsystem and hot chip. Almost
as good as the prodigy.

abso amazing continuous beats throughout the night!!! the hall was air conditioned also so every1 stayed in good spirits and didnt overheat. best gig of 2009 for me !!!!!

the duo were on form last night and Glasgow as we always are were up for it.
To those who dont think Simian Mobile Disco are upbeat enough and wouldn't go down well on a night out, You need to see them live before you make that judgement.
All in all really good. And the after party to then see them DJ was amazing aswell.

After a long two-act warmup we finally got to hear the show. The warming up acts made me wonder about the sound but boy.. Simian did kick in! Most of the time electronic acts performances stick to a smokescreen and nodding heads behind a deck but Simian made great impression with a Nuclear reactor kind of setup and lights.

Simian Mobile Disco's new album is great, and definitely adds to their set as it offers more variety than the first album. They played a pretty good mix of old and new, though I'd have liked even more bew stuff as am loving the album. They lost it a bit at the end when it got a bit more bleepy and tech no without end, but all in all a great gig!

Having seen Simian Mobile Disco supporting the Chemical Brothers at the Brixton Academy and loved them, we were looking forward to seeign them at the Forum. I don't have anything bad to say about the boys, their set was fair enough, but not much different from 2 years ago if I'm honest. The main problem I have is with the venue - the Forum was clearly not build for such a large amount of people. We queued 25 minutes twice at the bar, and failed to get a drink both times. We gave up i the end and left. After a busy week at work, the Forum did well to ruin a perfectly good night out.

What a great act to see live, made better by a great venue (HMV / Kentish Town Forum) - superb sound and blinding lightshow. Just wish they had got some people to do the vocals rather than playing that off the computer too.

Simian are always awesome but I think they lost the plot a bit at the end / into the encore. But the classics were still just that Classic!!!! Overall a good night!

It's quite hard to review a gig which involves a fair amount of alcohol, and excessive amounts of mad dancing. All there's to say is; if you were there, hope you enjoyed it as much as me and my friends did, and if you weren't there - well, too bad!
