As an old fashioned cricket supporter who still loves 5 days test matches, I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the 20/20 format, but in the event it was excellent. The crowd have some of the more pleasant traits of a soccer crowd but the appreciation of cricket fans. They were lively and amusing, yet we sat with the opposition without any problems. The winner was cricket, good shots score most runs, good slow bowling gets wickets. I for one will go again. 2 matches in one day seemed to give good value and make the trip to The Oval worth while.

The first game was a bit one sided but made up for by a brilliant Scottish catch in the deep! I do not htink the Scots were used to the speed of the SA opening bowlers!
Everything was on the England -v- Pakistan game, which considering Englad had lost to Holland in the previous game made the reasonably easy win against the eventual winners all the more remarkable!
Good seats and even better Pies! Beer as £3.80 a pint was a bit steep.

Brilliant display of batting by South Africa after a tight opening spell by the Scots. Lots of 4's and 6's - the dancers looked exhausted. Scotland did their best but not suprisingly outplayed - then!!! Pakistan's large group of supporteers were rapidly slienced by some excellent Endland batting - not so good Pakistan fielding. The atmosphere in oour stand was amazing - a lot of friendly goading from opposing supporteres but everyone appreciating good cricket. Pakistan's reply to a reasonable Engkland score rapidly went into decline. In the end England won convinvingly and their supporters left very satsified but rather voiceless - an amazing day!

The venue was great and security was tight. Seats were well located and we managed to see two great games of cricket, one where SA cruised to over 200 runs and the other where England saw off Pakistan.
The crowd were amazing and it was all very good natured too.

The rain held off, although it had been forecast and swirled around the Oval all day. The Scots put up a spirited effort against South Africa. The highlight was a sensational boundary catch by a Scot called Coetzer, who has to have some Springbok in him with a name like that. We went to the park for lunch and returned to a completely different atmosphere dominated by loud and enthusiastic visiting supporters. The chap who chanted at them that they were the “fourth team in Asia” could not have been more wrong as they eventually won the tournament. His chant “you only live round the corner” was probably nearer the mark.

Owed the missus quality time so had to miss the sweaties take a pummeling. Arrived for the England game and was amazed to find myself surrounded by horn-blowing Pakistani supporters and drunken englishmen.
Undoubtedly best atmosphere I have experienced at a cricket match (I was there last day of the Oval Ashes 2005 so there is competition).
Dont rate 20-20 as a sporting concetp, love it as a spectator.

went with my father in law to see south africa v scotland then england v pakistan at the oval 20/20 group matches. great atmosphere excellent seat at a brilliant venue.a real family event and would definitely go again.

The Oval is so easy to get to on the tube.
The cricket was great.
It was easy to get served and the stewards were less officious than those at Lords.

This was fantastic entertainment. Great atmosphere and superb cricket. The England v Pakistan match was without doubt the game of the tournament. Thank goodness I managed to get tickets.

Having never watched england in any form of a cricket match live this game was thoroughly antisipated, and i was not left disapointed.
The day started with an expected South Africa victory over the Scotts, the weather held and the evenly matched supprt for both England and Pakistan steadied themselves.
Just standeing and singing to my national anthem was a rush, leaving the hairs on the back of my neck standing proud.
The game itself was fairly matched with England coming out on top, only for us to get steadely worse as the competition progressed. But hey, an English victory never the less.
The crowd were well behaved with good natured banter aplenty, the beer masively overpriced, as was the food, and the stewards pleasant and helpful.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day for my £40.
