Being from the great State of Texas, I went to see the Zac Brown Band (ZBB) for the first time, since discovering their music on a country station that I listen to at work from the US. I think the band sings their souls while playing. What's more, is that they connected with the crowd, which I know had people from the UK, US, and Australia.
Their heart felt belting out of Free, Chicken Fried, Cold Hearted, Devil Went Down to Georgia, and more brought the crowd to their feet. I'm not sure if most people noticed, but one guy jumped on a steel guitar, which brought back some great country music memories. But, the final song, made the night extra special. I've seen many country bands try to perform more of a rock cover but ZBB's cover of Rage Against the Machine's Killing in the Name of shows that country can cross over into other genres. My opinion, they were better than Rage.
Top notch band.
Kassidy opening up for ZBB was extra special as well. first few songs were more geared toward fold type music, typical for opening up for country genre. But after the drummer stepped on the stage,...whooooo, he beat the bones, like Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters. This guy jammed...
Great and amazing night.
