I am not a theatre expert but I have to say this is the first time every single one of the actors is brilliant.... The set was genius, a great amount of effort was put to transport the audience to 6(?) different places with the simplest objects...
The play itself was very intense... It was really mirroring the last days of a couple that used to be in love.... I got goosebumps at the end! It was a stunning ending!!!!
Highly recommended!

The acting was incredible and the play brilliantly written. A few 'expected surprises' were thrown in but they managed to avoid coming off as cheesey or contrived. A thought provoking piece and an intelligent look at the dynamics of relationships and human nature.

This play although I thought was over priced, was brilliant, very deep in places, I could relate to many of the scenes. I was on the edge of my seat at times. Different bits keep coming back to me, what a shame it is only showing for a limited period. I would recommend it. I don’t think it’s to be taken light heartedly.

Did not really know what to expect. But right from the start we were captivated by the clever use of language the simplicity of the set and acting of such a high standard you forgot this is their day job.
Not suitable for youngsters not just because of the adult nature of the story but there is a few ripe phrases in context.

Speaking in Tongues in all it's brilliance is certainly not the kind of play you want to take your partner too if there has ever been any question of infidelity, or perhaps it is?
Speaking in Tongues forces you to confront the realities of marriage and mid-life, which fortunately still await me.
The cast move seamlessly between characters and their performances compensate for a sparse set.
Foreboding for some, comforting for others, or all too close to home...I would highly recommend Speaking in Tongues for a thought provoking, and entertaining evening.

With the unusual benefit of nearly front row seats we weremost impressed with the quality of the professionalism, the attention to detail in gesture and posture was amazing. The sets were imaginative and refreshing, the sory line cleverly constructed. We left having appluaded with genuine appreciation and then discovered that neither of us understood the final conclusion! Who did what to whom? Maybe we are sad or just had a lapse of attention, can anyone help us out please?

I was surprised at just how good this play was, the actors and actresses were amazing, jumping from one character to the next. They spoke clearly and precisely. In certain parts of the play I felt like I was in it... the adrenaline was really pumping.
I'd recommend this as a MUST see!

This play kept you at the edge of your seat. It was an extremely clever plot. Albeit a little confusing at the beginning of the second half but this added to its intensity. All four actors were brilliant. It was refreshingly different and a lot better than I expected. I would highly recommend this play.

While the acting was good, the play was hard to follow. The story left a lot to be desired. It was one of the plays I'm sorry I spent money on. This happens only once in a great while in London.

Interesting, somewhat complex play. No dozing off for this one as the plot plus subplot took continuous concentration. The first half was excellent; the second half different with different characters (same actors) and the ending somewhat abrupt. My friend next to me, said 'Is that it'? However, all in all brilliantly acted, a lesson in 'six degrees of separation' and who wouldn't be happy with anything that JS is in. He is such a fine, versatile actor.

My friend and I went to watch this on the 10 Oct 09 and it was amazing. It wasn't your usual drama it was very confusing at times but kept you guessing and not wanting to miss the next bit. Although I went to see John Simm the other three actors were amazing too. If I lived in London I would definatley go and see it again.

John Simm, is there anything this man is not excellent in, though Ian Hart was fantastic. But, I may have selected the wrong play to celebrate my wedding anniversary (infidelity)
If you are a fan of John Simm this is a must.

What a change from big West End musicals! Yes - John Simm was the magnet that drew us to the Duke of Yorks - but this was a riveting play and all the actors were superb. Not to be recommended if your concentration levels are not high..! The plot was complex but with a final twist at the end of the play. Absolutely suited to the intimate setting of the Duke of Yorks.

The irritating nature of the dialogue - two people saying the same thing - in the first half of Act 1 conditioned my view of the whole play. As with others, we nearly walked out at the interval.

I am a big fan of both Kerry Fox and Ian Hart. I am waning on my enthusiasm for John Simm. When the play started with a rather self conscious style of speaking together, I thought I might have to make a run for it. (my husband disagreed - he loved it, like music he said). The play soon settled in and allowed the 4 fine actors to get a grip on their parts, but I was perplexed when some people sitting near me started to laugh. Oh! oh? A comedy? In the 2nd half which became more intense John Simm, playing the role of the heart breaking neighbour, sensed that his role was causing some amusement (with those same people behind me), and completely hammed up the rest of his speech. I wondered if the rest of the cast were seething like I was.
On the plus side, the performances are great (John Simm is a fine actor but I fear some ego has slipped in since Life On Mars) and the set is delicious, though a technical error meant I had a bright light coming straight at me through the screen spoiling the wonderful images.
This is a production that needs tidying up. Get rid of the humour, keep John Simm on course, and then I'd tick the yes box. oh and if like me you have seen Lantana, and enjoyed it, hold on to your hat.
